Gas hot water heaters have a lot of benefits, but they do occasionally have some common issues that, if caught early, can be easily repaired. If not caught early, there are still effective repair solutions that can be achieved by a qualified gas hot water plumber. We offer 24/7 service to fix or replace your gas hot water heater from issues such as:
- Pilot light extinguished - Pilot lights can be tricking, so it’s important to have the manufacturer’s instructions handy when relighting. We are trained and skilled to do this and will have it up and running soon. However, it is safe if you are careful to attempt to relight it yourself, in case it has just been blown out by wind.
- Leaking pressure-relief valve - This is quite a common issue. To ensure the valve operates correctly, it should be manually activated every three months. They are designed to leak intermittently when the unit is heating or over pressurised. If there is a constant leak from your pressure relief valve it requires attention.
- Discoloured or dirty water - If you have discoloured water coming from your tank the tank can be flushed and the anode changed.
